Their Hot Dad Calendar single (Tiny Engines) is really just a crunchy little nugget to whet our appetites until Cayetana releases their first full-length later this year. These two songs are ripe with that South Philly basement musk, explosive and controlled in the right places. Danceable choruses: check. A unique, intimate lyrical perspective with the voice to match: check. (See the song “Ella” and singer Augusta Koch.) Most importantly — an early promise that these ladies are about to make big moves: check.
