Snowbird is the trans-Atlantic duo of vocalist/songwriter Stephanie Dosen and erstwhile Cocteau Twin Simon Raymonde. Their debut, moon (Bella Union), has a milky-white downy softness reminiscent of Raymonde’s old band. The sound is more palpably organic, despite some light electronics, richly textured orchestrations and drumming by Radiohead’s Phil Selway. The core is Windham Hill-esque piano and sumptuous vocal embroidery.
