The Lawrence Arms | a-
Floating somewhere between a noir novel and a death-bed manifesto, Metropole (Epitaph), the first Lawrence Arms LP in eight years, finds its characters in isolation, drifting through an empty city, vaguely aware that it’s all ending soon. Brendan Kelly and Chris McCaughan nail their dual-vocal approach, the Chicago punks’ aggression significantly muted here, each track strung together between samples of performing street musicians.
