Society of Photographic Educators Conference
First Friday is coming a little early this month with the 35th annual Society of Photographic Educators Conference: a handful of area galleries currently featuring photography exhibits will hold receptions on Friday night. Among them are Snyderman (featuring work by Stuart Rome); Schmidt/Dean (showing work by Alida Fish); UArts' Sol Mednick Gallery (exhibiting Pinky/MM Bass'
Body Nostalgia), and more. The conferenceheld March 26-28 at the Adam's Mark Hotelfeatures Joel-Peter Witkin, the photographer known for his vintage-style photos of deformed and mutilated subjects, as the keynote speaker; panel discussions; a recycled print rummage sale/auction; workshops; portfolio reviews and more.
