The Independent Media Center of Philadelphia is providing updates on the protestors jailed during the Republican National Convention, including first-person accounts, on its Web site, www.phillyimc.org. And now that the Democrats big party is underway in L.A., local public television station WYBE-TV35 is carrying some programming from the L.A. IMC (www.indymedia.org) from 9 to 10:30 p.m.
Channel 35 also is looking for a part-time host for Your African-American Connection, a monthly installment of the stations nightly local-issues talk show, Philly Live. Resumes, photos and tapes are due to the station by Aug. 31. For more, see www.wybe.org.

Former Philadelphian Jill MacDowell has resigned as editor of In Pittsburgh, an alternative weekly owned by Philly-based Review Publishing. MacDowell told the Pittsburgh Business Times that she "had fundamental differences of opinion about the direction in which the paper was going," but declined to elaborate. MacDowell had served in several roles at Review Publishings largest alternative, Philadelphia Weekly, before taking the Pittsburgh post last year.
