Cards Against Humanity game sends out list of people and organizations giving money to Pa. Sen. Bob Casey
Who would have thought bullshit proprietors would take on politics?

Remember when Cards Against Humanity — “a party game for horrible people” that you should play with friends immediately if you haven’t yet — sold literal boxes of cow shit to 30,000 people for $6 each on Black Friday?
Now, for Christmas, the company has rolled out its “Ten Days or Whatever of Kwanzaa” promotion, wherein you can sign up to receive (or have a friend receive) 10 mystery gifts in the mail throughout December. And 250,000 people paid COH $15 each to send the gifts.
A friend of mine surprised me with the 10-gift suite, and along with a pretty cool personalized COH card set predicting I'll die next year...
…I also received a note explaining that COH, using $1 from each of those people who bought the holiday promotion, had donated $250,000 to the Sunlight Foundation, known for providing “citizens and journalists tools to see who’s spending money in politics and how much they’re spending.”
Along with the note, this “Day Nine” gift included a long — like CVS receipt long — list of “a report on financial contributions to your senior senator who wasn’t up for election this year, Bob Casey."
COH wrote:
“Today, just one percent of the people in America hold more than a third of the money in our country, and the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision gave constitutional permission for that one percent to pour that money into our elections. That’s probably why over $4 billion was spent on this year’s midterm elections, the most expensive ever.”
“Our elected officials are public servants who work for us, and we believe you have a right to know who’s buying their influence. Here are the people giving money to Senator Casey:”
Among some of the companies COH/Sunlight lists as smaller contributors…
Google, Inc. $12,000
Anheuser-Busch, $10,000
National Football League, $10,000
Major League Baseball Commissioner’s OC, $10,000
Comcast Corp. $10,000
Monsanto Co. $8,000
Wawa, Inc. $5,000
Seaworld Parks & Entertainment, $5,000
…and a few of the larger ones:
Freedomworks for America, $759,473 [But Freedomworks here gave Casey a 0% score for “voting with FreedomWorks principles”]
US Chamber of Commerce: $500,000
Susan B Anthony List (pro-life): $50,252
Carpenters & Joiners Union, $45,728
Painters & Allied Trades Union, $23,500
Operating Engineers Union, $21,473
American Crystal Sugar, $20,000
HG Heinz Co., $20,500
Sierra Club, $52,524
…and donations from voter websites and organizations…
Patriot Majority USA, $299,515
America Votes, $23,333
Moveon.org $20,315
…and, randomly, $8,000 from “Friends of Senator Carl Levin,” the longtime Democratic senator from Michigan.
The company says on its website that it compiled this data using Sunlight’s Influence Explorer tool, where you can enter the name of any politician, company or individual donor and also download the entire Casey contribution list.
But the question remains: Why Casey? Our state has two senators; maybe something Toomey-related is coming later?
Either way, it's interesting to see a dick-and-fart-joke-based playing card company take a dive into politics. Not that they haven't played in that arena a bit before...
