Concert Review/Photos: L7 @ Trocadero 9/11
They even dedicated a song to late South Street punk Brubaker.
A sold out crowd hung on every angsty chord as L7 blasted through their greatest hits. Jennifer Finch and her clear bass was as fiery as her hair was red while Donita Sparks played to the back of the balcony with her intense punk. Guitarist Suzi Gardner and drummer Demetra Plakas fleshed out the angles and edges to the L.A. quartet’s propulsive sound. The band proclaimed their appreciation for the Trocadero being one of the first venues they were welcomed outside of the West Coast and they even dedicated a song to late South Street punk Brubaker.
Philly band The Pretty Greens put on a stunning opening set harkening back to a ‘90s crunch. Here’s hoping they return to the Troc stage in headlining mode one day.
