[ 1/23 ] As I walked to the Electric Factory on Friday night, I wondered what was in store. Is Marilyn Manson the same old bible-ripping, corset-wearing, screaming wraith who sparked just about every kind of controversy in the ’90s? Not exactly, however, the Antichrist Superstar still put on a spectacle for the sold-out crowd. Besides playing a majority of songs off ninth studio album, The Pale Emperor, Manson also pleased fans by dusting off some of his biggest hits, including “The Beautiful People” and covers of Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)” and Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus.” While Manson’s performance was toned down compared to years past, it was still one hell of a rock show.
