An olive oil tasting menu?

Dinner Plans: Italian preview at Townsend

There are still a few seats left for a very special dinner happening tonight at Townsend (1623 E. Passyunk Ave.) Chef Townsend Wentz is teaming up with olive oil maker Lorenzo Caponetti for a multi-course menu previewing Wentz's upcoming Italian spot in Fairmount.

All four courses of the prix fixe are going to include plenty of Caponetti's slow-pressed oil from Tuscania, just outside of Rome. Be on the lookout for a Barnegat Bay scallop crudo with sunchokes and salsa verde, sweetbread piccata with arugula, lemon and capers plus an olive oil financier with pistachio gelato to round out the meal.

There are only about ten seats left for tonight's dinner so we'd highly suggest giving Townsend a call at 267-639-3203 to reserve your spot.
