The folks at George and Jennifer Sabatino's Aldine (1901 Chestnut St., second floor) are not fans of the wintertime. Neither is ASB/STPR chef Scott Schroeder. On Monday, February 2nd they're getting together to give a big middle finger to the cold weather and hosting a Mid-Winter Summer Barbecue.

They're going to be pumping up the heat, breaking out the Hawaiian shirts and serving up a family style menu of summertime favorites including George's cola can chicken, Scott's pulled pork, potato salad and cowboy beans. Plates are going for $30 and also include all sorts of sunny extras like fried sardine tacos, marrow sausage sandwiches, tuna poke, grilled shrimp skewers and short rib lettuce wraps. Plus Jen's going to be behind the mixing up the kind of drinks that compliment blame days and above freezing temperatures. Reserve your post at the picnic table by calling 215-454-6529.
