Inquirer changes definition of 'exclusive'
Open letter from City Paper, which published a database of restaurant food safety on Dec. 4

Dear Inquirer,
How should we define the word "exclusive?" The dictionary makes it quite clear. In short, "excluding all others."
So, you created quite a mystery this morning on your front page, referring to your "exclusive look" at Philadelphia restaurant inspections, coming up soon in your paper.
This creates, apparently, a new definition of exclusive.
As you know, the City Paper published just such a report, both in print and on our web site, on Dec. 4. The City Paper database is right here, where our readers have been using it for the last five weeks.
Perhaps you meant exclusive to all Sunday newspapers? Perhaps you meant exclusive to all newspapers named the Inquirer? But, no, you couldn't have, could you?
Exclusively yours,
The City Paper
