Doughnuts and sorbetto cocktails!

Capofitto (233 Chestnut St.), the latest pizza and gelato spot from the Capogiro folks is rolling out brunch this weekend and we've got to say, the menu looks downright amazing. Happening Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. there are plenty of great looking brunch options like Benedetto Italiano starring poached eggs on focaccia with prosciutto cotto and hollandaise, Pasta Carbonara with locally cured 1732 bacon and an egg-topped Pizza Contadino with mozzarella de buffala, speck and DOP yellow tomatoes but it's the sweeter offerings that have us looking forward to the weekend.
To kick off brunch there's a lineup of three sgroppino (i.e. sorbetto-based) cocktails in combinations like pear sorbetto and Dad's Hat Rye, apple with Different Drum Rum and lemon with vodka, all topped with a splash of prosecco. There are also a a few morning cocktails like the Sauced Apple with cider, Campari and rye and a bloody mary with grappa and Calabrian hot pepper.
Be on the look out for Sicilian Breakfast, house-made brioche stuffed with your choice of gelato, a sweet calzone filled with your choice of Nutella, chocolate fondant, dulce de leche or seasonal poached fruit and mascarpone vanilla cream and plate of mini bomboloni, filled Italian doughnuts.
