La Colombe | The shiny new La Colombe Fishtown flagship is oh so much more than just coffee and croissants. The gorgeously outfitted industrial space is home to a custom mural by Stephen Powers, a gleaming copper wood-fired oven and a rum distillery. Also on board are a head chef, bread baker and pastry chef making sure that there are plenty of good  eats to have with your coffee (like macarons, scones, salads and some crazy good toasts). FYI: La Colombe is a Wi-Fi-free zone so bring a friend or a book but not your laptop. Sun.-Wed., 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; Thu.-Sat., 7 a.m.-10 p.m. 1335 N. Frankford Ave., lacolombe.com

Blue Duck Sandwich Co. | Boldly going where few have gone before, the Blue Duck Sandwich Co. is an ambitious new BYO in the Great Northeast. Chef/owner Kris Serviss has put together a menu of elevated new American bar fare that includes serious sandwiches, three takes on wings, a trio of mac and cheeses and a short and sweet selection of entrees available after 4 p.m. Serviss’ Sunday brunch menu is heavy on the pork roll, with a pork roll burger and pork roll egg rolls with egg, cheese and sriracha ketchup. Tue.-Sat., 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-10 p.m. 2859 Holme Ave., 267-686-4687, blueduckphilly.com

BareBurger | New York import BareBurger is the newest addition to Philly’s burger scene. Adopting a more-is-more philosophy, BareBurger’s menu is home to options ranging from vegan, gluten-free sweet potato and wild rice to elk and goat ready to top with eight varieties of cheese, three types of bacon and a salad bar’s worth of toppers. Mon.-Thu., 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Fri.-Sat., 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sun., 11 a.m.-9 p.m. 1109 Walnut St., 215-627-2273, bareburger.com.
