Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse is thrilled to announce its 3rd annual Kidchella music festival - now a 3-concert series! Concerts will take place on Smith’s 6 ½ acre Playground on Friday, June 17, Friday July 15, and Friday, August 19. At 5pm families are invited to bring a picnic or buy dinner from a variety of food trucks on Smith’s front lawn including Foolish Waffles, Dos Hermanos Tacos, Curbside Creamery, BrazBQ, and The Tot Cart, then grab a spot on the Playground in time for the music to start at 6pm. Concert-goers will enjoy a fantastic lineup of family-friendly music curated by Jeff Bogle of Out With The Kids and emceed by Kathy O’Connell of WXPN’s Kids Corner, that include performances by Lucy Kalantari, Joanie Leeds, Shine and the Moonbeams, Moona Luna, The Singing Lizard, and Key Wilde & Mr. Clarke. This is a rain or shine event. Kidchella is sponsored by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, and the PA Council on the Arts.
