New York is red: Red Bulls beat NYCFC in third derby

Harrison, NJ - It was the third derby this year for New York Red Bulls vs New York City FC and each had one win under their belt.

Bradley Wright-Phillips, who previously did not score for over a month, had two goals which helped NY Red Bulls beat NYCFC 4-1.

NYCFC was down 3-0 near the half and caused concern for the team who previously lost their first match against NY Red Bulls 7-0.

NYCFC manager Patrick Vieira was ejected from the game as he protested a few calls. Thomas McNamara gave the team a bit of hope when he scored with a screamer from 30 yards.

It wasn't enough for the blue who lost given the right to NY Red Bulls to say, "New York is Red".

NYCFC remain in the number 1 position as leader of the East with 33 points while NY Red Bulls climbed to position 2 with 31 points after the win.
