"Pill Man" new superhero in town

We met a new super hero in town and his name is "Pill Man" whose mission it is to help save lives by raising awareness of side effects from common painkillers.

"Pill Man" is a life size sculpture made by Francis Huntley using his empty Oxycontin and Methadone prescription bottles.

Francis Huntley, a 46-year-old father of two, only just recently stopped taking the drugs that were originally prescribed to save him from pain. He took the pills for 15 years and became addicted.

He is off the pills now and working with a team of physicians at Hahnemann Family Health Center.

According to the Gastroenterological Association, 103,000 people are hospitalized every year because of side effects from common painkillers.
